Testimonial Dinner to Honor Trent Dominique and Kevin Weisman

Two brothers well known to the Fifth District are being honored by the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Toledo, by being coroneted 33 Degree Masons late in August.

A Testimonial Dinner to honor these worthy brothers RWB Trent Dominique and WB Kevin Weisman is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017 at Northwest State College, Archbold, Ohio.

In addition to there service to the Scottish Rite, RWB Dominique has served the 5th District as District Advisor and DDGM. While WB Weisman is not a member in the 5th District, he is more familiar to us in the York Rite, particularly the Commandery where he has held several Division Offices.

Funeral Services for Ora Dell Stayner - July 2 4:00pm

WB Jeff Mills from Edon lodge asked me to forward a notice for a Masonic Funeral Service for Ora Dell Stayner, a 50+ year member of Edon Lodge who passed away recently. The family has asked for a Masonic Funeral at Krill Funeral Home in Edon at 4:00pm on Sunday (tomorrow). If you can make it on short notice, please plan on being there at 3:45pm.  http://www.krillfuneralservice.com/obituary/4281013

Ora Dell Stayner, age 85, of Edon, Ohio, went home to be with his Savior, surrounded by his family on June 29, 2017. Ora retired from Fidler Concrete , of Angola, Indiana in 1992 after 42 years of service. He served in the US Army in 1951. He was a member of the Edon Church of Christ, Edon Masonic Temple, Edon American Legion Post #664 and the Bryan Moose Lodge.

He enjoyed his free time by mowing lawn, spending time at his family cottage at West Otter Lake, swinging in his front porch swing, and stepping in to fix whatever his friends or family needed. He made everyone he met feel welcome and made sure they had “something to eat”.
He was loved and will be missed and remembered by many. We know we will see him again one day up in heaven dancing to Proud Mary!

Born July 4, 1931 in Steuben County, Indiana, he was the son of Ora T. and Naomi (Patterson) Stayner. He graduated in 1949 from Orland High School in Orland, Indiana. He went on to marry the love of his life, Betty Marlene Wolff on July 26, 1953 and she survives.

Also surviving are his children, Gail (Kenny) Reitzel, and Douglas T. (Mindy) Stayner, both of Edon; seven grandchildren, Josie Reitzel, Jimmy (Jessica) Reitzel, both of Edon, Braye (Cory) Miller, of Fort Wayne, Bradley Fremion, of Eugene, Oregon, Kaitlyn Manahan, of Blakeslee, Shaylee Manahan, of Edon and Riley Manahan, of Edon; seven great-grandchildren, Sky and Stormlin Osborn, Clara and Carson Reitzel, all of Edon, Phynnigan, Navie and Oliver Dell Miller, of Fort Wayne and sister, Hazel Kain, of Orland, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law, Cleon Kain and nephew, Rick Kain.

Visitation for Ora D. Stayner will be held on Sunday, July 2, 2017, from 1:00 to 4:00 P.M. in the Krill Funeral Home, Edon. Services will be held on Monday, July 3, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. in the Edon Church of Christ with Pastors David LaDuke and Cliff Graves officiating. Interment will follow in Edon Cemetery with graveside military rites by the American Legion.

Memorials may be given to the Edon Lions Club or Community Health Professionals Hospice.

District Lecture Conference

Brethren,
Our Second Lecture Conference will be on June 17th 2017, at Fulton Lodge.

We will begin with a Master Mason Degree at 10 am (breakfast at 9am), Come join in the Raising of a Fulton lodge Brother. Full sidelines make a lasting impression!

Then at noon we will begin our second lecture conference, building on our May 20th meeting. It was great to see the brethren taking the initiative to further their masonic knowledge by diving into the ART of lecturing! Even if you missed the first one, don't let that discourage you from attending! "Anytime" is a good time to start!

We all owe it to our new brothers to present good, meaningful lectures for all future generations! Check fabulous5th.com for calendar updates!
