Calling all Masonic Ham Radio Operators!

This contest is still very much in the early planning stages, but the brothers of Fulton Lodge 248 have marked a date they want to attempt this on. September 25, 2021 will be the first ever (that we know of) Masonic Lodges on the Air contest, a.k.a. CQ More Light!

The goal is simple, activate (e.g., set up a temporary HAM Radio station and antenna) as many Masonic Lodges as possible and try to log a QSO/Contact with them.  More rules and scoring will be forthcoming, but for now, know that the date for this is intended to be the Saturday of (or immediately following) the Autumnal Equinox. You do not need to be a Freemason to participate in this contest, in fact, we would encourage any Masonic Lodge to open their doors (or property) to host an event with local HAMs or maybe even coordinate an Open House for the same day.

Keep checking back as we expand into Social Media and provide further content related to the upcoming contest.

Grand Master First Responder Challenge Coin

Brothers all, MWB Dickerscheid has created a commemorative challenge coin as a fundraiser for the Veterans and First Responders Fund. These Challenge Coins are 1 ¾” dia. and feature Military and First Responders on one side and our Grand Master’s theme “Use the Tools” on the other. The cost is $20 and your DDGMs have a limited supply of them! Be sure to contact Bill Pacak or Larry Lyne for yours while their supplies last.  This goes to a good cause.

Thanks to the brothers of the 5th District

WOW! A heartfelt THANK YOU comes from the officers and brethren of Napoleon Lodge to the Napoleon community and especially the brothers of the 5th District. Brothers from at least four of our lodges traveled to Napoleon last evening to support our drive thru lasagna dinner. Over $1000 was cleared on this event with 50 percent going to Christmas Cheer, a food distribution community project to help needy families better enjoy the Christmas season and 50 percent to the lodge scholarship fund.

Most Worshipful Grand Master Dickerscheid permitted this community project to happen providing certain conditions were being met, one of those being that it occurred under the umbrella of the Napoleon Temple Company and not Napoleon Lodge #256. Another condition was that it not be shared on social media. We thank him as well for allowing us to serve the residents of Henry County.
