Expectations and Requirements of Fabulous Fifth District Officers
(rev 5/1/2026)
According to the By-Laws of the Fifth Masonic District Association, the officers shall be:
a) President
b) First Vice President
c) Second Vice President
d) Secretary
e) Treasurer
With the exception of the secretary and treasurer, it is a successive line with elections each year at the annual meeting in September. A brother elected to the office of president must have served as Master of his lodge within the past five years. While family, work, and other obligations are to be considered, the success of district functions is dependent on meeting current expectations of the successive officers:
- Attend district meetings, usually held monthly with the exception of the summer months.
- Attend as many district functions as possible, including inspections, to make presentations regarding the programs they are charged to promote.
- The president will organize an agenda in advance of district meetings, conduct the meetings, and have some responsibility in inviting guests to the Grand Master’s Reception.
- The first vice president will be responsible for promoting the Grand Lodge Scholarship program. This involves contacting the schools in the district to encourage applications and, after securing them, organizing them for the scholarship committee to review.
- The second vice president is responsible for the Excellence in Youth nominations. Like the first vice president, he will contact schools and other youth organizations, such as churches, scouting, and 4-H, to secure nominations for students worthy of this award.
While these are the current expectations of the district officers, there may be changes dependent upon future Grand Lodge programs and district functions.
