Zenobia Shrine Friendship night in the 5th

Zenobia Shriners is bringing a Friendship Night to the 5th Masonic District on November 2 at Fulton Lodge #238 in Delta. Social at 6:00pm Dinner at 7:00

Our Masonic Organizations have a common goal of “GROWTH.” To achieve this growth, we have found it extremely beneficial to offer an overview of Freemasonry, its history and its strengths. This program is informative not only to potential Masons, but also to long-time Masons.

This event is tailored to new candidates and their ladies. Information being shared is well-suited to provide a rudimentary understanding of our fraternity.

This event is offered as a no-cost event for candidates, sponsors, and their ladies. A small fee is charged ($10) to those who would like to attend, but do not bring a potential Mason with them.

Appetizers, dinner, and beverages are provided.

Attire is casual

While Zenobia Shriners conducts this event, we only spend a small portion of the night on Shriners. Keep in mind, Freemasonry in North America spends $3 million per day on charitable causes. The Shriners account for $2.7 million of that number.

Please spread the word as this is a “Can’t Miss” event. We ask that at a minimum at least 10 candidates or more attend.

Please make your reservation to this event by calling: 419-297-4779

November District Meeting

Brothers  All,

There will be an annual meeting of the 5th Masonic District on the 3rd of November starting at 8:00AM sharp, (there will be a breakfast casserole), we will have breakfast while we meet to save time, Omega Lodge starts at 9:00AM. We should be done by then. Our agenda is mostly to elect the officers for the ensuing year, if you plan on running for an office, please be present.
Please plan to attend, as your vote and opinion matter. Our new District Advisor will be in attendance also.
Brothers, thank you for all that you do for the Craft.
Paul Kelly DDGM

Installation Reminders

  • A first-time Master who has not received the Past Master Degree from Chapter can only be installed after the Required District Convocation for Incoming Masters on December 1st at Fulton Lodge #248 at 1:00 PM (a light lunch at noon)
  • A Past Master serving in the East again can be installed anytime after his election
  • Even if you’ve already received the Past Master Degree, it is required that all incoming Masters attend the Past Master’s Convocation. Put it in your calendar now. If you know you can’t attend, contact Paul Kelly or Joe Stotler and they will give you dates for other districts’ Convocations.
  • The Installation Ceremony is provided for you in the Ohio Masonic Code Books. Read it--you need more than aprons & jewels.
  • Offices required--Installing officer, Secretary, Marshal, and Chaplain. Your installing officer must be a Past Master.
  • Your District Officers are happy to be part of your installing team if their schedule permits. Ask early! Their schedules fill up fast during November and December, and waiting until the last minute will leave you empty-handed.
  • Installation Ceremonies can be Closed or Open to the public & an excellent time to include family or invite potential members.

Flag City Honor Flight

I am presenting a check to Flag City Honor Flight on Tuesday, October 2nd.  They are flying out of Grande Aire Hangar in Swanton.
I think it would be great if we could have a bunch of Masons/Shriners there to send the Vets off.  There is suppose to a Toledo News team there.  Will you please try to get the word to the Lodges?
Here are the directions and address:
You go to Toledo Express Airport the second light. Turn left. Go to the stop sign. Instead of turning left to the airport you will turn right down the service road. Go down about a mile or so. Grande Air Hangar will be on your left. Be there by 6:00 am. You'll need a government approved ID like a drivers license to get in. If you google Grande Aire Hangar 11777 W Airport Service Rd, Swanton, OH.
Fraternally Yours,
Rick Schau

Shrine/Special Olympics Fundraiser

A great opportunity has fallen into our lap and your help along with your friends and family are needed to raise money for the Special Olympics and the kids in the Shriners Children hospitals. It is that time of year for the Shriners to sell their Vidalia sweet onions to support their hospitals but the 5th is putting a twist on it.  Each 10 lb. bag is sold for $12 with $5 going to Shrine Hospitals and the farmers. The remaining $2, if purchased through the 5TH District Association, will go to the Special Olympics.

Our current four county goal is to sell at least 200 bags of onions. To give our District Secretary a break, I will spearhead this and collect monies and deliver them. Please email me at or call me at 419-344-8441 to order or with any questions.

We can meet this goal easily Brothers. Let’s step forward and help the kids and our Special Olympians.
