Dear Brethren,
The following is the awards program for the “Sponsor-An-Athlete” program for 2016
- A donation of $500 to $999.00 from a lodge will receive a certificate signed by the Grand Master and Special Olympics. This certificate will be given to the lodge at the Registration table of Grand Lodge 2016.
- BRONZE MEDAL AWARD: A donation of $1000 to $1499.00 will receive a Special Olympic Medal plaque presented by the Grand Master at Grand Lodge.
- SILVER MEDAL AWARD: A donation of $1500 to $1999.00 will receive a Special Olympic Medal plaque presented by the Grand Master at Grand Lodge.

- The “Jerry C. Rasor Award” will be presented at Grand Lodge by the Grand Master to the lodge that raises the most money contributed to the “Sponsor-an-Athlete program for 2016.
The cost for an Athlete to attend the summer games is approximately $170.00, this figure goes up each year with the cost of housing and food. We must point out that donations for the “Award Program” are calculated from the money given through the Charitable Foundation for the Sponsor-an-Athlete program. We have no way of tracking money given to the local organization by your lodge. We would also like to remind you that checks should be made out to the Charitable Foundation, and should have “Special Olympics” and your lodge number on the memo line. Please earmark these funds for Special Olympics so you will receive credit for your donation. We thank you for your continued support of Ohio’s Special Olympics Athletes.
Fraternally,
Michael D. Cecil PDDGM

We have 5 lodges down, and 5 left to go for the 2016 Inspection Season. Liberty Center is next up on Saturday March 5, starting at 9:00am. This is an hour earlier then the other inspections this year that have been on Saturday mornings, so please make note of this in your calendar. Liberty Center will ne inspecting in the EA degree and has told us there will be the usual pie extravaganza following the degree work.

Dear Brethren,
In the past, the Fifth Masonic District has had a fund raiser to gather money to support the Grand Master's chosen charity for the year. Two years ago we had candles and last year we had the Carruth stone decorations. This year, Most Worshipful Brother Robert C. Rill, Jr. and his wife Jennifer's chosen charity is the Ohio Masonic Homes. Right Worshipful Brother Walter Schilb had graciously donated fifty CD's of him performing some of his favorite tunes on primarily piano, but also guitar and even marimba song. Some of these include: Ain't Misbehavin', Satin Doll, Georgia on My Mind, Margaritaville, and many others (a total of 16 tunes). We would like to sell these at $10 each, which would generate $500 which we could give to MWB Rill at the Grand Masters Reception on April 1 for the Ohio Masonic Homes. Please help us support this most worthy cause. CDs will be available for purchase at the remaining Fifth District inspections, or until supplies are exhausted.
Sincerely
Christian A. King & Robert R. Rettig, D.D.G.M.

The Fifth Masonic District Grand Master's Reception this year will be held in the atrium at Northwest State Community College, Archbold, Ohio (same location as the past two years). The date is set for April 1, 2016 with a social hour beginning at 6:00pm, and dinner at 7:00pm. The cost is $25.00 per person if paid in advance, $30.00 per person if paid the night of the reception. Checks for payment should be made out to "Fifth Masonic District Association".
For the Lodge Secretaries: We are asking each of our district's lodges' secretary to collect payments and maintain a reservation/log sheet for their brothers attending this event. Reservation sheet need not be anything fancy, we
just need name of brother and number attending (i.e. Jim Parsons - 2). Please send your lodge reservation list into Jon Schamp (jon.schamp@gmail.com) no later then Friday, March 11 (Bryan Lodge Inspection Night). Monies collected should be sent to WB Schamp via USPS:
Jon. R. Schamp
1125 Royal Bounty Lane
Wauseon, Ohio 43567
WB Schamp will compile a separate list of attendees for each lodge, so all a brother need do is give his name at the registration table the night of the reception. Please direct questions to:
