- Your District Planner for the week of November 8, 2026
Hello brothers of the 5th. It was good to see many of you at the Valley of Toledo Fall Reunion in Ridgeville Corners on Saturday. It was a full day, but certainly filled with great degree work. We have three lodges installing officers this week, as well as a few other meetings and events. Here is what is happening: There is a Benefit Dinner for the Griewahn Family (Sean Griewahn, PM Fulton 248, passed away… Read more: Your District Planner for the week of November 8, 2026 - Your District Planner for the week of November 1, 2026
Good Sunday morning, District Brothers. We are now in November, which means annual lodge meetings, officer elections, and, in some cases, lodge officer installations (remember, you can't be installed until after Convocation unless you are already a past master or a Royal Arch Mason). Secretaries, please remember to fill out Form 52 to certify your election results for the master of your lodge; they will need this when they attend Convocation in December. If you… Read more: Your District Planner for the week of November 1, 2026 - Your District Planner for the week of October 25, 2026
It's hard to believe we are in the last week of October. With lodge elections just around the corner, please remember to communicate with the DDGMs about when you intend to hold your Installation of Officers and whether the event will be open or closed. For lodge secretaries, don't forget to print Form 52 (certificate of election) for the Master-Elect to bring to Convocation on December 5, and please get your election logged in Grand… Read more: Your District Planner for the week of October 25, 2026 - Your District Planner for the week of October 18, 2026
It was an incredibly busy week with the 217th Annual Communications for the Grand Lodge of Ohio. It was good to see so many 5th District faces in Dayton! It was especially good to hear that all of our lodges were represented. It might not be a bad idea to mark your calendars for October 15, 2027, which will be the 218th Communication back in Dayton. Until then, here are some events and meetings coming… Read more: Your District Planner for the week of October 18, 2026 - Your District Planner for the week for October 11, 2026It's Grand Lodge Communications Week! I hope there are others as geeked about Grand Lodge as I am. Grand Lodge opens at the Dayton Masonic Center on Friday morning at 8am. Parking is somewhat of a premium there, but as I understand it, buses will run from the University of Dayton Marriott to the Dayton Masonic Center starting at 6:30 am. The last bus is scheduled to depart the Dayton Masonic Center at 9:45 pm.… Read more: Your District Planner for the week for October 11, 2026
- Your District Planner for the week of October 4, 2026With October in full swing, we are counting down the days to Grand Lodge Communication on October 16. Until then, we have the usual round of stated meetings to bring to your attention: Grand Lodge Communication is on October 16th at the Dayton Masonic Center. Are you planning on going? A reminder to Lodge secretaries to get proxy cards ready in case any of your three principal officers are not attending. See your DDGMs if… Read more: Your District Planner for the week of October 4, 2026

Greetings, Brothers. This week, we say goodbye to September and hello to October... Let me let that sink in for a moment! It's been a busy month, as we have all returned from a much-needed summer break. October brings Grand Lodge Communications and preparations for annual lodge meetings and the election of officers in November. We have a few items queued up this week: If you want to take a short trip on Monday, Rubicon… Read more: Your District Planner for the week of September 27, 2026 - Discovered an old District Award from 2000
It's amazing what one can find squirreled away in a lodge. One of our DDGMs recently discovered this award relic. It is the 5th District Traveling Education Award. As the top inscription reads: This Trophy is presented to the Lodge demonstrating excellence of participation in education programs of the Grand Lodge of Ohio F & AM. Awarded in the years 1993-2000, the following lodges adorned their walls with it: Hicksville 478 (1993), Hicksville 478 (1994),… Read more: Discovered an old District Award from 2000 - Your District Planner for the Week of September 20, 2026Amazing how fast the days start to pick up once we are back from summer break.
